I'm wondering besides hiding in plants, and in caves what else is good in which fish can hide. I've heard flower pots are also good but does anyone have any other suggestions? ^_^

flower pots work well, I've heard you can use a coconut with the end cut off. But I've never tried that one.

For some reason, my fish never use their flower pot. (Well, ive never seen them using it, anyway.)

side turned shot glass or voltive candle holders (what I use). And if your asking my khuli the filter. Are you looking to set up caves or have you losted a fish?

I have put pvc pipe in my tank. There are all kinds to choose from: elbows, t-shaped, plugs for the ends and the like.

My clown loaches like the pvc pipe a lot! I'm not sure what you've read about the flower pots. Some people tip them on their sides. I took a wrench (I think it was, could really use anything though) and used it to break off pieces of the rim of the terra cotta pots, thus creating an "entrance" to the cave. I would place the pot on its top and see how big the entrance was, and continue if needed. Be careful if you do this, though, because it is easy to split the pot completely (but the pieces can be used for other things!). I didn't like the look of the red pots in my tank, so I spread silicone sealent over the pots and rolled them in sand (took about 2-3 times to get good coverage).

Kind of a grainy pic. I used my web cam to get a quick one. This is one that I don't have in the tank at the moment. Others have larger openings, depending on the fish I want in them. I use these to breed apistos.

Thanks! I also covered the pvc pipe with the same sand. Some people cut off the bottom 1/3 of the pipe so that it has a flat bottom, and lay it on top of the sand. I have left mine whole, and buried most of it so that it has an entrance and goes down-and-back into the substrate.
