Hi all,

I got 6 zebra loaches at the weekend and while they all seem happy they are all huddled together in one ship ornament. Im looking to get something else for them but im stuck. Theres soo much choice which is best?

Ceramic tubes, slate cave, plastic cave, drilled wood?

Any help would be great!

Thanks

How bigs your tank? Might give some idea as to size of decor

Oops, that would help!

Its a Fluval Roma 200 a good 3ft wide. There is not much space in there with current decor but can move it around!

Many people use terracotta pots split in half, they come in all shapes and sizes so bound to find something to suit. And the orangey brown works well with the green of plants

I have a simple, relativley cheap idea for you.
Buy a PVC pipe, any size or shape, preferably big enough for the Zebra Loaches. Then use aquarium safe silicon glue or aquarium sealent. Put either similar gravel, sand, or both to match your tank's substrate. Then you can attach a low light plant like moss. I used Round Pellia. My kuhli loaches love to rest in there. So do my Peacock Gobies (whom the cave was originally meant for)

You can check out the journal here, but these pictures speak for themselves :p

I made coconut caves, £1 from the supermarket then cut them in half and cut a hole for the fish.
