Hello all i'm new here and glad to be here! My name is Vicky and I am 17 years old and love fish! I currently have a 35 gallon set up with one angel named grace , one chinese algea eater named flash , one cat fish named Hook(not sure of species) and one Chocolate cichlid named Apollo. I've had this tank set up for two years and everything has gone well except for a nitrate level being to high and the loss of 2 fish. I'm really into horses, dogs , hermit crabs , and leopard gecko's. Basically I just love all animals and would have lots more if I could! I'm a member of the diaconate at my local church, and really enjoy that. I'm hoping to someday be a preschool teacher ( I absolutley love kids!) Anyway it seems like their are alot of knowledgeable people here and I'm glad I came here! Thanks.

Vicky

Hello Vicky and welcome to the forum. :hi:

I assume your nitrite problem was in the past. I don't know how long you've had your current group of fish but keep a very close eye on the chinese algae eater. They usually become very aggressive as they get bigger and will try to eat the slime coat off other fish, especially flat-bodied fish like angels. Also, find out what type catfish you have (post pictures in a Chit Chat thread) if you need help). If it's a cory, they need to be in groups of at least 3.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!! :) I will post a picture of the cat fish this weekend. He seems to keep to himself and just basically hides all the time , but he does have a large mouth. The nitrate problem was about 3 months ago and the current fish are doing great. I'm already loving this forum, I have a feeling I will be on here often!! :D

Hi, do you own some leopard gecos or are you hoping you can? Until I'm older I'm sticking to things that will live in a tank and not a resposibility to everyone, just me. Though my mom is supporting me in my hoby. How big ios your angel?
