I am an excited newcomer to the aquarium world. I have a 35 Gal with 5 different Gouramis and a 3 of those Green glo tetras. the tank doesnt have much for plants, it is mostly rocks and coral. i am not very happy with how loud my Tetra hang-on filter is, plus i got it without a end filter piece so it sucked/chopped up my 2 dalmation mollies!
so i made a filter peice for the input tube. but the filter seems loud and i dont like it hanging on the back of my tank! Im looking into the PennPlax cascade 1000, does anyone have any advice on this unit? is it quiet? should i use an undergravel filter? Also, do i need something else to "circulate" the water with this unit?
I am excited to get more fish but have no clue how many i should put in this tank, i do like the look of the gouramis and would like more of them.
