Hi I joined another fish forum to see if anyone could help me recognise my tank, but unfortunatly noone can, though I had some great tips and help.Thought it might be useful to try another one just in case.
I brought the tank off ebay and when we got it home to try and start setting it up we couldn't work out what the black compartment is at the back of the tank.It obviously must hold a filter and charcoal mediums of some sort, but what and where it would go is anyones guess. We emailed the guy(he wasn't there to greet us just his sis who knew nothing about the tank)to ask what type of filter it would take to which he replied"Any",we pointed out the black compartment at the back, but he never replied,so now we are stumped!!
I have to email "cloverleaf" to ask if they ever made tanks as there website clearly states they make pond equipment not fish tanks!!!
I've added pics to see if anyone can recognise or can advise me on it.LOL wheres the button to add photos??!!!!

:hi: to TFF!!!!

Pictures would be useful.

Is there a name on the filter?

You need to upload pictures to photobucket, or any other website that is like that; it is free to make an account.

Then you can upload all the pictures to that site, where you can than get a link from that site and copy and past it here. The picture should than appear on this forum.

You need to copy and paste the IMG code, then paste it here and it will appear.

The IMG code should appear when you run your mouse over the picture, OR you can click "get links" where the link will appear.

I think i just worked it out!!lol Is it showing up now??Blimey all to get a photo on!!lol :)

i personally have never seen that one but i have seen simalar just can't remember where,it look's a nice tank though.I would of thought that the filter on the back run's abit like the river reef tank's and you put the media in but in what order i don't know, maybe you should take a look at the river reef tank's see if it shed's any light on your's.

Here, I made it a bit more simple:

Was there a pump that came with this setup?

Cheers FHM,(cool name by the way!!!)Cheers for sorting my pics out(Oops i have loaded them a little large, soz!)

I've had alot of ppl say they recognise it but noone can quite put their finger on what sort of compartment it is,some say i'd need a powerhead?
Like i said "cloverleaf" don't sell fishtanks just pond equipment so its all rather odd.The guy won't reply to any of my emails,so i feel a lttle ripped off!!There wasn't any filter the only thing he threw in was the heater.I might buy a fluval for now to get the cycle going. My poor other fish are seperated into 2 tanks one in a daft bio orb and the others are in the 90l tank.
Its a shame not to be able to use the black compartment for its proper use,if we took it out it would leave a bit of a mess!I haven't tried to put water in it yet i just hope it doesn't leak out the sides!!!!:0 Thanks for all the tips though please keep them coming as it all helps.

Wow, I searched google images forever and can't find it...lol. I'm assuming there is nothing on the back of the tank or the bottom? Is it a completely fitted hood? Or is the hood only the top part and where it says cloverleaf the trim on the tank? What does the top of the hood look like?

I would also take a wild guess and say intake on the left underwater output on the right?

It almost looks like an aquastart aquarium but I can't find a pic of an empty tank to compare the back and filter thing.

Good luck :)

and welcome to TFF :)

I'd say that black box is the filter housing, although who knows where the pump has done that would go in it.

You might be able to remove it totally and get a new internal filter. Failing that, you'll need to find the right pump and media for the box. That could take some searching.

If there is a connection on the back of the tank, you have an in tank overflow system. It is designed to be used with an external filter that you just connect to the tank overflow with standard plumbing fixtures. That style of tank is used quite regularly by people who keep salt water fish and use a sump or similar filter.
