1: my gourami looks like he might have velvet.i saw a pic and i looked at my gouurami and it looked a little like that but much much lighter...do you think he has it??

2: what are signs of a healthy pleco???

Well, can you get a picture of your gourami? I really can't identify it without a picture or more info. What leads you to believe it has velvet? What are your water parameters? Filtration? Other fish? Last WC?

Signs of healthy pleco = not laying upside down at the bottom of the tank But seriously the best way to tell a healthy pleco is by the size of the indentation above and behind their eyes. This is where the pleco's body stores unused fat. If the indentation is deep, they are not getting enough food. If the indentation is level, they are getting enough food, and if it is bulging, they are extremely healthy.
