Hi all, Im new to all this aquarium stuff and wondered if someone could help.

Had a Biorp 30l for four weeks now with two plants inside and a water feature (not important)

Readings are as follows

Nitrate June 110ppm
Amonia 0
PH 8.1
nitrite 3.3

Now i know the nitrate is off the scales and nitrite. Any ideas what to do or is my tank cycling correctly

It's difficult to know how your cycle is going; have you been adding ammonia, and if so, how much and at what intervals?

If this is a fish-in cycle (I really hope it's not!) you need to be doing some massive water changes to get the nitrite down!

Water changes are the best thing to bring things down; you don't need to be adding any chemicals to tanks, except under very special circumstances. For 99% of fishkeepers, 99% of the time, a good dechlorinator is all that's needed.
