I have a mystery snail who was fully grown when I got him back in September. For the first month that he was in my tank, he was fine. He moved around a lot, crawled on the sides and ate his food. At the beginning of October, he stopped moving. He's not dead, because he will move his head and crawl a little ways around the tank, but he will not go up on the sides. A few days ago, I moved him to his own tank so I will be able to better watch him. Now, when I go to check on him, his trap door will be dangling open, and he will be hanging out, and I will know for sure he is dead. Even when I pull him out of the water he stays that way, until you barely poke him, then he will pull his trap door shut halfway. I have another mystery snail in the original tank that is super active and hasn't had a problem. Is my snail dying or what? I've had lots of snails before but have never seen this.

Sounds like he is dying, sorry.

If he was fully grown when you got him he might have already been several years old.
