Help With Mbu!

It's more than likely coincidental. The whole tank should be warm all over if the heater is rated correctly, and should need to come on very infrequently.

ive had some heaters be effected by the filter output though.

The heaters are in the internal filter box so maybe this is the case I will put one down the other end of the tank and see if It helps. I think he may just be terratorial, If I am cleaning the gravel in that side of the tank he swims to the top and splashes me with his tail. Little git  Tis quite amusing though.

i would leave the heaters in the filter housing its the best place for them
the warmed water should be circulated round the tank by the filter

He still won't move out of the right hand side of the tank, he happily swims about when the light go's off but mainly sits on the bottom during the day if there is no food in the tank, do you think i should fed him less to give him some motivation to swim about to find some?

I feed mine a variety, but he really swims for live river shrimp. The smaller ones he has difficulty catching so, if possible it might be an idea to try dropping a few of those together with some larger ones on the other side of the tank (the side he doesn't like swimming in) see if it'll entice him over there.

River shrimp dont last particuarly long if you dont have a spare tank as they are high ammonia producers, but if you are able to get 10 or so from your LFS, it might be worth a try.

Best of luck.

Good news, Me moves about much more now. i stopped dropping his food into the right hand side and I feed him less. He took a raw prawnfrom my hand for the first time yesterday :good:
