Help With Lighting

I'm thinking of upgrading my lighting to T5s, but I'm a bit confused by it all.

Do I just need to buy new T5 tubes, or will I need a new light unit too?

if you currently have T8 light, you will need to upgrade everything, except perhaps any reflector you have.
