Help With Fluval 3 Plus Filter

Hi, i have got my Fluval 3 setup in my 4ft tank, and was wondering if it can be used to airate the tank? I connected an airline to it and there is a lot of air pumping out of it, Is this ok? Or is it restricting power to the filter?
I also have another filter running at the other side of the tank too,

The air tube will add bubbles to the water if that is your desire. If you just want good oxygen exchange, having the discharge near the surface so that it makes ripples in the surface will accomplish that without the noisy bubbles.
