Help With Bogwood

Can i add any bogwood to my cichlids tank the ph is around 8 and i have a plec that could have some would this be possible.

in theory the rotting bogwood should lower the ph. personaly i would stick it in and keep an eye on ph levels as long as its not a 4ft piece of wood.

its such a small peice like 8"x4"x5" in my 55G with over 30kg of ocean rock.

To be honest Ginge, a small piece like that shouldn't make too much difference. Your Ph is currently quite high and i'd be surprised if see any change but if it does drop even to 7.5, that would still be fine and this would happen gradually and should not affect your fish.

You can always monitor the Ph and remove the bogwood if neccessary.
