Hi All,

In my tank I have Zebra danios, oto's, neons, harlequin rasboras, red phantom tetra (i think) and 2 cherry shrimp , 2 baby ramshorns and one other baby orange snail

I changed my substrate to colombo florabase on wednesday and today i spotted 3 of these odd creatures, here's a picture of one

what on earth is this?

thanks!!

cant find the post edit button?!

wanted to add that these are moving about very slowly on the glass

been zooming in to other pics

does look like a snail i think, the orange part is the shell and I think I can see the tentacles and eyes!

Looks like Freshwater Limpet - Acroloxus lacustris

Since freshwater limpets, Acroloxus lacustris, are so small and also move really slowly, it might be hard to identify them as snails. They are small and can't do much damage to plants, but since they are small, it's impossible to find and remove eggs and the baby snails. Harmless.

Hi Fish Crazy, completely off topic but sort of relevant. My attachments button says beside it that the max size is 100k. How did you manage to post such a big pic?

You need to upload your pic to a hosting site, like Photobucket or Flickr, and paste the IMG code into your post :good:
