It sounds like internal parasites... they are nasty and really hard to get rid of. The only thing I've found that works is called "Parasite Clear" by Tank Buddies. It's a tablet that you drop into the tank which dissolves in the water. How old is the tank? Do you have another "hospital tank" which you could treat the gourami in by itself? Here is a website which sells the medication: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Product/Prod...p;N=2004+113017

nitrate needs to be around 20ppm i believe. also, it sounds like internel parasites. try finding something at a local LFS to get rid of it.

Has the fish gone thin through not eating.
Going thin can be internal parasites, fish tb, to flukes and other parasites.
Gouramis are more prone to bacterial infections.
What does it look like when the fish goes to the toilet.
Check the anus to see if its red and inflamed or enlarged.
Has any of the fish in your tank ever show deformaties, popeye, dropsy.

the tank is about 8 months old,and yes i do have a hospital tank i can treat him in. I figured it would be a good thing to do a few months back as i read most medications can harm plants and the benifical bactria population, putting my other fish at risk.

The fish has been eating regularly (almost seams to me he's eating more greedly)
His anus appears normal, and his passings as compared to the other fish look the same.
While I was just checking this i also noticed that his fins look a bit raged.the ends of them looking worm and a bit whiteish, but there doesn't appear to ba any abnormal growth (ich, fuzz,or anything like that)

All the other fish in the tank look healthy and are swiming around just fine.

One other thing is 2 days ago my eldest dojo loach died mysteriously, haveing shown no symptoms and being of robust and healthy looking weight befor i looked over and saw her upsidedown on the bottom.

thanks,thats a good read there.
I'm not convinced it is TB tho,as my fish doen't show any of the other symtoms, and especially as the thining has happened very fast-over the last week.
Also the artical sugests that it's preaty much untreatable.Knowing this i think i may transfer him to the hospital tank and try to treat it for internal parasites...... does this sound logical?

All the symtoms don't have to be present in fish tb.
If the fish had internal parasites you would notice long stringy white poo, or red poo.
Even worms prutruding from the anus.

Look under piscine tb.

Ahh,yes,i must have missed the crocked spine symptom in the other artical, and i belive that confirms it for me,as he seams to be suffering from this symptom aswell. His rear end looks off-set to his front half. Right now he looks very weak, and i don't think he will make it much longer......Too bad,he is one of my favorate little buddies.I'm going to have to keep a closes eye on the others, and get my suplies in order to be prepared for another sick fish.
Again thanks for your help. :)

Sorry bless him, might be best to end his suffering.
Good luck.
