Hello everyone, I am having a problem with my tank. The tank has cycled with the forum's help about 2 weeks ago. So i did a water change as described in your forums and kept on adding ammina to tank until I introduced fish. 2 days ago i placed 2 small goldfish into the 55gal tank. My levels were Ammonia 0, Nitrite 0, Nitrate 80, Ph 7.6. The fish were doing fine until today. When I came in from wrok today (day2 since fish planting) one of the gold fishes has a white coating/burn to body, fins and was dwelling on the bottom with lots of poop. I got really alarmed since all my fish before in this tank died over night having similar symptoms. I placed them right now into quarantine tank, treated the water with stress zyme.
My readings currently are Ammonia 0, Nitrite 0, nitrate 10, ph 6.0 ( I always have such low number from the tap, during cycling I did add baking soda as advised from the forum memebrs).
They seem to be doing ok in the quarantine tank for now.
I did plant some low light plants into tank, dont know if this could have dropped the nitrate levels so low. Please help, I do not want to see other fish die again.
