Help! Need Reassurance

Hello!

I am brand new to this forum. I am also a new fish lover. I started my fish obsession one month ago with the purchase of a baby biorb (15 litres/4 gallon). I'm hooked. I am having a few difficulties that I was hoping I could get some feed back on from you pros.

I have 6 happy small fish (2 male guppies, 2 red wag and 2 sunbust platys). I added them in slowly the first month but its obvious that I must have purchased 2 pregnant platys as I now have a lot of red wag and sunburst babies! Thanks to this I have now researched the breeding habits of platys and can tell the males from the females!! I added some feng shui rocks over top of the ceramic media for hiding places so the babies dont become dinner. I read to feed the babies crushed adult food and have been feeding 2x day. Now I have lovely white worms on the wall of the acrylic bowl, very small, hairlike, at first I thought they were scratches on the inside of the bowl, the location lines up with where the adults food is dropped in. So I figure my tank cant handle the extra babies, the feedings and the extra waste? We replaced the filter (it was really dirty and not even a month old) also washed the plastic plants and feng shui rocks, there was tons of crap floating around. We did a 50% water change. I use a bit of conditioning salts, stress zyme and stress coat. I am considering doing 30% water changes everyday to battle the waste build up, including aggitating the bottom ceramic media?

I am feeding the adult fish 2x day with 2 pinches of wafers and 6 floating pellets each feeding. 95% looks like its consumed before hiting the tank bottom.

I dont own another tank to put the babies in. But something has got to be done I guess. Am I on the right track?? Any advice?

The tanks overstocked that why your filter media is always blocked up.
Biorb are no good in fish keeping.
Livebearers are active fish and really need to be in no less than 10 gallons.
The worms are due to lack of maintance do you do gravel vacs, to ammonia readings.
Need to look at your water stats in ammonia,nitrite,nitrate, and ph.
I would see if the lfs will take the fry off your hands.
I would invest in another tank to be honest.

also even if you get rid of the babies and only have female platys you will still get more babies. female livebeares can store the males milt inside them for at least 5 batches of eggs so they can continue to produce babies even without coming into contact with males again. (not entirely sure on the timescale, but its quite a long time) also the babies become sexually mature at a very young age. possibly at only a few weeks old. after this they will start to reproduce also, although the young females will probably only have 1-2 babies in the first batch although older females can produce from 10-80 babies per batch!
