Hi There!

We started our fish tank about a month ago and have listened to lots of advice and our fish tank looks/seems healthy with an exception of our largest gourami. We have a 30 gallon tank, we purchased 3 gourami, the largest which is about 3 inches was doing fine up until about 3 days ago, he is now barely eating, lost all his color (he is a blue gourami), he is the only male with 2 females - we have a few other fish in the tank. His color is now almost all gone, hes a VERY pale blue, sits at the bottom of the tank and sways forward and back - not side to side... hes just not himself... do you think something is wrong?? We had our water tested and everything looks fine, the temp is at 78. HELP! I dont want to lose him...

first of all, that temp. is a bit high. try lowering it down to around 75-76 degrees. can you give me a list of the tankmates? and i would LOVE to have a picture of your poor gourami. it very well could just be stress, depending on your tankmates. pictures and list of fish please.

i see that you are a newbie. welcome to tropical fish forums!

Aw thanks!! I am hoping for some quality help/discussions!! This whole fish hobby is very addicting and fun!!

His tank mates are 2 female Guorami, 3 Buenos Aires Tetra (thats what I started the tank with, they were recommended as good "hearty" starter fish) and 4 Molly's (the little female black Molly has now started picking on the big Guorami) ... I am attaching 3 pics, 1 of the tank, 1 of the sick G and 1 of the sick G and in the background you can see the other one which is all colorful and pretty!
