So my angels have spawned as they do regularly and they are tending their eggs and all. Very cute, I'm happy for them. Hagrid, my male bristlenose has figured this all out and within a couple hours he is in there having a nice caviar meal as if he owns the place. The angels can't fight him off.

I feel so bad for the angels. They go through all this work and I feel that I'm a terrible person for creating an environment that the eggs get eaten so fast. BUT I have no intension of raising angel fish so somewhere along the line they would probably get eaten anyway. I still have this automatic feeling that I should be doing something to protect the eggs. Silly huh?

Humans are stranger than fish.

Ok... think of it this way. Rather they are eaten whilst they're a gooey mass of DNA than when they have formed fully, hatched and can feel pain/you have to watch a living swimming fish fry get eaten.

The angelfish wont care that much that their eggs are eaten... if they cared that much they WOULD drive the BN away. lol.
The only reason any fish 'care' for their young and eggs is due to the fact it makes genetic sense. If they provide good parental care, more babies survive, so more of their genes reach the next generation.

It is a biological instinct to protect offspring, however I dont think you may have indirectly caused any harm by putting you're plec in the tank with angelfish, what will be will be
