Hi everyone! :)

So recently, I started to get my tank in order. As of today, this is what it looks like:

I don't think it looks great at all. I kinda like the right side, and I tried to go for something jungle like on the left side but failed miserably.

I am looking to purchase some more plants.

What do you think I could do about my tank that would make it look better?

I have a smaller piece of bogwood that was leaking way too much tannis, so I removed it from the tank.

Here is kind of what I have in mind:

I looked at some nice iwagumi landscaped and really liked the natural flow that they create in the the aquarium. I kinda wanted to do something like that with the left side, but more minimalist, so that the right side would still bring most of the attention.

But now when I look at the picture I made, it looks really bad.

So how should I aquascape it? The plants I wanted to buy are: Anubias Agustifolia, Anubias coffeefolicia, Hygrophilia Difformis, Taxiphyllia Barberi, and Vallnisera spirallis.

These basically are very hardy plants that fish barely eat. I am looking to use these in the aquascape or something similiar in nature.

I am also looking to use some rock, if it's not expensive.

Any suggestions are welcome!

Thanks a ton! :)

it doesnt look to bad, I think with most tanks they never look natural, I mean like nature designed it, not a human, they look almost engineered. It really depends on what look you want, if your going planted the "jungle" look always goes down well but there are hundreds of ideas and designs. Do some research on "beautiful aquarium landscapes" and look on http://www.thegreenmachineonline.com/articles/search-articles/results/taxonomy%3A38 for design formulas etc, keep looking at other tank pictures and stick to your idea, remember to make it look natural and I believe you cant go wrong with that :)

I like your design, I think you def. need some rocks, and I tend to think that the smoother, bigger rocks always look more natural, and i think it's almost impossible to stack and arrange rocks and have it look natural. I think you might not like your plants bc they're mostly stem plants and all kinda the same height. Get some varying heights and bushiness, and some rocks and I think you will feel differently, maybe add some more sand if possible. You're almost there :good:
