help me please

i have a rather large pink shell and i have boiled it and cleaned it i was just wondering if i could put it in my fresh water acuariam with out it effecting my ph or fish please some one help me i go on holiday tomorow cheers krib

Yep u can put it in as long as u boiled it and u did So go on. 8)

A lot of shells leach calcium into your water and are not suitable for fw tropical fish. I definitely wouldn't add something questionable before going on holidays. I'm not sure if the vinegar test works with shells, but I know that if a rock fizzes when you pour vinegar on it, it's not safe for your fish tank. If you're determined to add it to your tank, I'd do so when you're around and can monitor your water parameters.

Id agree with fishaholic, no probs putting it in but id wait until you get back from holidays or you could come home to a very messed up tank
