Hi i just bought my Betta fish, Peter Pez, three days ago and he isnt eating his food. i bought him from Petco and i bought his food there too the brand name is Wardley Essentials....so my fish hasnt eaten in three days and im worried that he is going to die, so does anyone know whats going on or have any advice? It would be much appreciated! thanks so much!!

Sometimes they need a few days to settle in before they'll eat, try offering him a tasty treat like some frozen bloodworms to help stimulate his appetite. But most likely he just needs time to settle in, I've had fish that wouldn't eat for up to a week or more when I first got them. And hes not going to die from not eating for a couple days, I believe bettas can live up to 2 or 3 weeks without eating.

Thanks so much for responding....where exactly can i get these bloodworms?

Hi
Yeh, dont worry too much, they can take a while to settle in sometimes. We have a female that went nearly 2 weeks without eating.

Like Jaded said, frozen bloods should tempt him, but dont beat yourself up if it takes a few days.

Quick question (sorry for going a bit off topic)  Do you thaw the frozen bloodworms before feeding them?

Yep. you can cut off what you need and defrost that, or defrost a cube and put leftovers in the fridge.
