Help Me Id A Fish I Saw As A Kid

hi when i was about 10 i saw a fish that lived under the sand can any give me a name as i would like to look in to getting 1 thanks for any help

Salt or Fresh?

Flounder or Sole are the first to that come to mind, then there are sand eels.

What size was it? What colour?

sorry fresh it was only tiny about 3" long and thin but not like an eel but it was 23 years ago lolthank you

light brown with dark strips if that helps thanks

was salt or freshwater. can you remember the colour or shape?

It might be worth looking into sandgobies

Sounds like it could have been a fresh water sole.

What about Kuli Loaches? Was it one of those?

hi it was definately tropical i did not see a salt water tank intill the end of last year but them sand gobies are nice maby i will get a little 20g reef tank lol

You can get fresh water sand gobies as well. Im not 100% but i think there's quite a few different freshwater sandgobies
