yes, is that abnormal?

1ppm Nitrite is high and toxic.. Ammonia and nitrite are killers. keep below .25 and aim for 0.okai guys, its the morning now.. i went to the shop and got the test kits like advised, it read 1ppm nitrite and 0ppm ammonia. sadly the fish still looks sick,
they will die. either now or later as the damage is irreversible ,
another red jewel, this resulted in my red jewel going extremely red and aggressive, the fish was in the tank for an hour b4 i decided it had to go. i have the fish to one of my fiends and it is doin quite well after its little ordeal.
