hi i have the same size tank but more fish and mine seem happy. But i have asked this question but have never had a full reply. Im interested to see who replys. Also i see you have a green spotted puffer Does it attack or eat the tails of your smaller fish ?

The guideline is usually 1" for every gallon.

What kind of barbs are they? If they're Tiger bards they're fin nippers especially on guppies

:hi: to the forum
Dont think your over stocked but your stock is incompatible.
What type of barbs are they? some can grow big and all should be in groups of 6+
What type of plec is it? some get to 18 inches
What is your golden loach? i guess its a chinese algea eater in which case is to agressive to be kept with your other fish.
not to sure on the silver shark these should be in groups of 6+ but think they grow big.
the red finned shark is also agressive
siamese fighters can live with other fish but these should be picked carfully (i.e non of your other fish should be with the betta)
Puffers need brackish water to survive long term.
I think you should look at taking some fish back the the shop or selling them.

I would say thats a bit of a mess. I would be concerned about the fish ripping eachother to shreds more than over stocking :)

Agree with Lloyd above ^^

The silver shark really needs a 6 foot tank and the puffer wont live a very long life in a tropical setup.

Hi,

I'm not an expert or anything but i'll try and help regarding some and leave the rest for someone else to advise. If im off course on any of this then someone can happily pull me up.

First off the bala shark, because of the potential size I do not think that is suitable for your 180L
Im not sure on the betta and guppys as the betta may not like the long, colourful fins on the guppy and could be a potential for a few scraps. .. however saying that your tank is quite roomy and maybe with the space they may steer clear of eachother and I also have known of people who have kept a betta and guppys and havent had problems.
I was also under the impression that the green spotted puffer is suited to brackish tanks and may need more room than what you've got when it gets bigger. I've also heard of them munching smaller tank mates.
As for the tiger barbs, id say up the numbers so the squabbling can go on between the group.

hi the aquarists is shops say 1cm of fish for every litre of water ,or 1 inch for every gallon of water hope this helps

Not over stocked but as said not the best tankmates in the world i'm afraid.

Maybe you should consider something like this for you stocking (see if you can swap the current residents)

6-8 barbs (depending on what speices they are as to whether they stay or go)
1 plec (again depends on species)
8 guppys (either all Male or 2 Male 6 Female)
4 sailfin molly (or the single which you have, 1 Male 3 Female
1 male siamese figher (personally i'd remove him but if he's doing well it could work)
10 Cories (Sterbai's are very nice and playful)
