I need help identifying this pleco. He was sold under the wrong name (or at least I'm 98% sure he was) they said he is a bushy nose. Which is alright with me because those are cheaper but I'm pretty sure he isn't a bushy. This is the best picture I could get of him in the past 2 days. I'll continue to try to get a better one.

Thats 100% a bristle nose, just a young fish, they take a year or so to start to devlope the bristles and it's the males that get the larger ones, females only have tiny bristles on their nose.

Are you sure? i have a bristlenose one and dont remember him looking anything like that  well mine now is about as big as my hand now  mine is a male one but when i had mine he was very small and still had bristles on him.

Ye defo, white edge to tail and top of dorsal is a sign of a young fish

That's highly surprising. I've had a bristle before and he wasn't spotted at all, he was banded and it was evident that he had bristles even when it was young. I've had another at one point (not a bristle) and it also had the solid color on the edge of the fins.

I agree it's a bristlenose, mine look exactly like that little guy. cept my guys bristles are beginning to emerge.

yeah its definately a bristlenose, looks a lot like mine actually

there are a fair few species labelled under bristlenose or bushynose so there it a fair bit of variation between them.
