Thanks!

Uh oh! It looks like a fungus infection! This can be deadly to your fish and contagious to other it lives with :( You can get a medicine called API Pimafix at any LFS or Petsmart/Petco..
Please keep this post updated as I have high concern for your little guy!
Best Regards!

Just ordered - API Pimafix Antifungal Fish Remedy, 16-Ounce. Should be here by Thursday! What is the sucess rate of cure? Should I treat the whole tank?

You will want to treat the tank, but be aware that Pimafix can be harmful to some species of fish. What is your stock?

The directions for the Pimafix says to "Remove activated carbon, if possible", but I have a HOB Aquatech 30/60 filter and the carbon is sealed in the filter. Is it that important to remove the carbon? I would have to try cutting open all the sections to get it all out.

I wouldnt ruin your filter about it...it says "if possible" so I'd say that you might just have to add in a little more than recommended so enough can pass through the carbon

Well I ended up removing the carbon from both my filters and started my first dose of pimafix yesterday, hope this works. Really wish I would've had a hospital tank. My only other tank is a 30 gallon that is being occupied by various tropical fish.

You wouldnt want to do a hospital tank, whatever parasite you have is in the community tank waters and should be treated to prevent spreading to others
