Thanks @Rusty_Shackleford and @GaryE . This morning there seems to be no change so will keep an eye. All other fish seems fine.I'm with @Rusty_Shackleford as far as a guess. I can say I had a similar patch appear on an African tetra a few weeks ago, and after about 3 weeks it cleared up. It was internal, not on the outside of the scales.
I would start treatment sooner rather than later. Columnaris is a nasty disease which can spread rapidly in am aquarium. The most effective treatment seems to be a two pronged approach using nitrofurazone and kanaplex. Thanks @Rusty_Shackleford and @GaryE . This morning there seems to be no change so will keep an eye.
