Help Identifing Fish

Hi guys, I hope you can help me with this problem. I resued the fish from my sister who didn't clean or feed the guy. I know he's nothing special but I would just like to know. I dont know anything about fish so please excuse my ignorance.

Goldfish...may be young shubunkins about to colour more from the second pic but both showing wild carp colours there.

really! Thank guys, sorry for sounding stupid...but i really dont know anything about fish never had a goldfish before but im glad he looks ok to you!

Sorry can't help you on I'd, but I think it's a very attractive fish. Was this from an unheated tank?

i presume it was as goldfish don't need heaters they are subtropical it would happily go in a pond mine have

your not stupid at all its good that you have asked now we can help you with anything else you need to know

It looks to me like a comet goldfish. I am not a goldfish person but thought that a shubukin would have more of a growth around its head, a wen.

As a goldfish, he'll need either 20 or 30 US gallons (the goldfish folks know exactly which type of goldfish need which) of water volume just for him. For many, this means its a better situation finding a pond home for the fish. Its wonderful you've rescued him. In the meantime he'll need frequent water changes with a conditioner (removed chlorine/chloramine) used to treat the new water each time.
