Help - I Thought I Had It Under Control But Its Just Burst Out

UK. Anti internal bacteria med by interpet.

Cool thats nice and easy to get hold of thanks again wilder :)

Just to check I am okay to add the med and the salt? And its the Epsom salt I need? How long do I leave the salt in for that guide said a few minutes is that right?

Scales have gone out now. I think this is looking like full on dropsy now :(

So gutted trying to get her out main tank and into QT didnt manage to get to the store for salts do I still need them which meds should I get instead now?

Well I stayed up till about 2:30am trying to catch her but she just will not come. I have tried again this morning and it is just impossible unless I strip down the tank.

Should I treat the whole main tank or just press on trying to catch her?

Ok I have picked up some of that interpet anti internal stuff. So should I

a - add it to main tank and treat everyone
or
b - separate her and treat her alone?

quick answers please :)

Also will this bump my cycle?

Ok so I used my best judgment and have dosed the tank and increased airation read the leaflet and it said it wont bump my filter so should be okay.

The complication here now is that I have to move my fish to their new tank on Saturday so what I am planning to do is get them in on Saturday then dose the tank on Sunday and treat that as a first dose and dose 4 days later as recommended on leaflet? Does this sound like a good idea?

Issolate her and treat. As dropsy can pass onto other fish if they peck at the fish dead body.
Add the bacterial med.
I think epson salt to the tank is one teaspoon to one gal.

The med can slighly knock water stats.

Just managed to move her over she was hiding in a coconut so managed to just scoop her out put the medicine straight in the tank as well. She has got worse, full blown dropsy and swollen anus. Still seems in good spirits though which I guess is the sad part really.

I know I have asked but a bit unsure should I still add salt?

Its 35 liter tank how much do I need and how long to I leave it in?

Not sounding good then.
Do you have epson salt. One teaspoon to a gal. So say 5 teaspoons.

No not got the salt yet but could do if its going to help. I have read in the past the dangers of dropsy and the high fatality once the scales have gone, how much of a chance do you think she has?

Hate to say it but we have said that if we loose her we will rehome the male as he is a brute and only really kept him because of her. *sigh* just gutted really

Only ever known a few fish to survive dropsy.

Once scales stick out fish rarely make it.

Yeah I thought that :(. Do you think it would be best to put her down? She has been vertical at the surface all day but she is still alive and can swim around when you are near the tank.

I know about the method of using clove oil but are there any other ways of doing it humanly?

Give her a chance.
If she goes down hill I would end her misery.

Don't need clove oil.

Jug of cold water and add ice cubes till the water freezing cold.
If no ice cubes place the jug in the freezer till a thin sheet of ice forms on top.
Place the fish in the freezing water. It won't take long.
Make sure gills are no longer moving. Leave the fish awhile in the water to make sure it's passed away.

ok thanks. she is now bottom sitting with a constant trail of white poo fins are not yet clamped though.

Shes gone :( just found her floating no gill movement so its over :(
