Hi

I was looking for advice, i have 65L tank for a couple of months with two stunning Angel Fish  I was in a big pet shop yesterday and was admiring all the fish and asked what went with the Angel Fish, they said anything apart from smaller fish.  I asked re a betta fish and they said fine.

So I have a brought one and added to tank, he went into hiding all day yesterday.  Then I googled and it told me never add a betta with Angel etc as the Angel will attack.

Today he is very active but its the betta chasing the Angel fish and trying to nip at them.  Any suggestions plus I know I have i messed up. Is he getting use to the tank?  I thought my Angel fish might chase back but they stay together and just swim off (they are a lot quicker).

Thanks

Hi there, sorry to hear of your problems :(

It's true that you can't keep angels and bettas together, so you're going to have to rehome something. However, your tank is far, far too small for angels, which can get very big when fully grown, so I would advise you look at rehoming them rather than the betta (or get a larger tank for them ;)).

agreeing that this tank is far too small for angelfish and would agree that you either re-home them or get a larger tank for them - somewhere in the region of 4ft with a depth of at least 18 inches.

Good tank mates with angels would be some of the larger tetra's such as emperor tetra's. If you are considering tetra's with angels it's best to research first as some tetra's can be fin nippers

Thanks for the input, love the Angel fish. So I will look for a new tank.
