Yesterday Remy bred with one of my girls i woke this morning to find he has completly moved the nest - does this mean he has eaten the eggs or transferred them - he's made the nest a lot bigger
it has a clump in the middle - would this be the eggs ?
how long before they hatch - is it 12-24 hours like my honey gouramis

Thanks for any help

Sarah x

Hi Sarah, yes he may have arranged the nest by the sounds of it and the clump in the middle is most likely the eggs, they should hatch within 24-48 hours depending on the water temp, mine hatched in 24 hours but the temp was in the higher range of 82f

Thanks hun , my tank temp is 82 aswell , If i have no fry by tomorrow night should i leave him in there and then re condition him and another couple of females (to condition them - 1 in chimney 1 in divided section) in a few days (different to the one he bred with of course)

They should have hatched by then so yes if there isn't any you can retry, remember to look hard though as they are tiny! he should be busy blowing them back into the nest so his behaviour should give it away as to whether he has fry or not :fun:

just seen him putting some eggs back in the eggs werent falling before will get magnifying glass out to see if its cos any have hatched
cos when my gouramis start hatching some eggs fall out of the nest and the male has to put them back in so hoping its the same

here's a 1 day old gourami fry - took me 20 mins with magnifying glass to find them lol
