Well not really panic, but i lost power for 4 hours.... is my nitrifying bacteria dead? :-( :-(

... on another note... what kind of grub can i feed my betta? He takes small flies and moths from me... what about maggots or other worms? Should i order grindalworm, micoworm or vinigar eel cultures online? He definietly doesn't like flakes

They should be fine as long as they were kept wet. You may get a mini cycle but there shouldn't be a need to re-cycle the tank.

Even though they should be fine, i would still encourage you to watch your water quality carefully over the next few days. It never hurts to be careful and it is better to find out sooner so you can take steps to correct it, if necessary.

 A mini cycle is just what i didn't want :-( i hope it'll be ok... i'll reduce feeding and such

Like i said, test your water stats daily. If a mini cycle develops, it is better to catch it quickly rather than let it sit for a while unchecked. If one starts, would you rather know at the first sign, or after things have gotten out of control?

since the filter questions been pretty well answered I'll address the betta question. I fed my betta crickets but he died so maybe it's not such a good idea. I doubt it was because of the crickets but who knows. He sure loved chasing them around though.
