all 5 of my golden barbs have dropped dead 25% water change 3days ago ammonia=0 Nitrate=20 feed 1hour ago with blood worm then next time a looked up there were all on the bottom on there side any one no what it might have been?????

What else (fish) are in the tank
How long have you had the barbs for
How old is the bloodworm and has it been stored properly (gotta ask )

52L tank.
ph is 6.8
nitrIte 0
been set up for 2month
blood was in frozen had it about a month.
they were the only fish in the tank was about to get some more today but thats gone out now. ere tbh its to l8 to help them now but would like to no what it might have been. What is the best step to take now should a do 100% water change and start from scrach???
(or blood worm went a little soft when a was a got it but been no problems with it up to now)

Hmm, odd one really. Was the tank cycled prior to the fish being added? Or did they go through a fish in cycle?
It might be worth phoning up your local water board to check they haven't had a phosphate or chlorine spike.
How big were the barbs? To be honest the bio-load should've been fine. But they can grow up to 8cm and would be far too big for a tank that size as they're quite active swimmers.

its was cycled prior to the fish been added a was thinking that but it was 3 days befor the past away its just strange wonder if i have contaminated the water my self. the barbs were only babys just over 1cm

Was the temperature ok?
Was the filter working ok?
Only thing I can't think of, other than a contaminant, is temperature or oxygen.

yer all was ok only been in to them about 1h befor and there were fine a was on the computer and ya can here if somthing is rong with it light was on the heater and temp was about 26C

Any signs of gasping at surface or darting.
How long had you have the fish. What was the ph of the lfs to your tank. How long did you climatise the new fish for.
How did you preform the water change.
Did you use a bucket that you use for doing other things. Did you rinse the bucket before you used it.
Used and chemicals near the tank.
Have you been decorating.

Did teh fish look pale or darker in colour.
Did the fish have any red sores on red streaking on there bodies.

use the same bucket for water changes dose not get used for any but my fish. the fish all ways dart about. they had no marks at all the fish went down in about 1hour if that so they were not lookin sick

Fish shouldn't be darting.

Darting means, bad water quaity, ph shock, toxins in the water, overdose of meds, parasites, stray voltage, the fish is dying.
