i have a black shiney background but when stuck on outside it has loads of bubbles, i,ve heard some people using vasiline, just wondering weather veg oil might be ok, what can you recommend. Also not to sure weather to use the blue or black side, i prefer black but am getting 2 large black fish, i am using sand and light coloured rocks with hopefully plants along back, do you think fish will stand out enough.

I always stick my backgrounds on the inside of the tank using aquarium background stickers, you don't get the bubbling and airspace in front of the background then.

Black will prob look nicer with the sand and rocks

will it look dull using stickers because of the slight gap?, as where the bubbles are the background dosent really show and where it has adheared to glass it looks fine

You've lost me, if it looks fine, why did you post?
No it doesn't look dull on the inside, it looks far better because there is no glass separating it, it's just the water on the background which looks amazing.

Like 'MermaidMel' I used the special background stickers to stick the background on the inside of the tank (before adding water, obviously  ) It will not look dull, on the contrary, it's much brighter as there is no glass or air between the picture and the water. (See middle picture in my signature)
Some will say the stickers don't last but I disagree. If the tank is clean and dry when fixing the stickers then all will be well. :good:
