Help! Fish Going To Die...

They usually just spend their time in one place, one even lies on the floor most of the time, and other times he is the most active in the tank. It's weird.

I read it off the thermometer. I'm guessing its not temperature coz they have been at this temp range for 4 months now.

Do you not suggest a big 80% one then like the other guy suggested?

okay just because heaters can malfunction and cook your fish... and you said you read it off the heater.

but try water changes... hows your plec?

Everyone has a preference.

Some people think 90% are fine and its better because there's more cleaner water and nutrients .

but others think that it causes to much stress and if your temps and water readings are to far off it might send the fish in to shock.

personally I wouldn't. BUT its up to you.

just remember to dechlorinate

haha sorry about that.

He seems unaffected really. Although i never see him, he's too shy and obviously nocturnal. He's been out a bit more during the day though recently. He doesn't seem to be swimming odd or doing anything different really.

Well you seem like the man so i'll take your advice and do about a 60% water change :p

Thanks for all your advice dude, its greatly appreciated!

How long should i wait till i see improvements? I doubt they will just magically be fine after 2 50% water changes will they. I added some anti internal bacteria stuff 2 days ago as i couldn't see anything wrong with them on the outside.

well if you do 50% now and check in the morning.
and do another 50% if its helping you should see them swimming around a bit more.

I thought meds usually need a daily dose for a week to keep them working?

It's an interpet one. Apparently i need to only add another dose on the 4th day and can redose after 7 days.

okay =]

well you best stick with the meds as well.

and feed them tomorrow as well, if they eat.

They always come up to eat :)

Shall i feed them frozen blood worms or daphina or something? I brought some the other day.

may as well give them some blood worms as a treat xD

my fish couldn't get enough of them when I switched from frozen shrimp

is there a filter in this tank?

there is not enough surface agitation in the tank. There needs to be a ripple on the top of the water to ensure enough 02 is circulated.

Hi,

there is a filter in the tank, its an interpet pf2 filter.

The filter was off when i did the video, i do keep the filter on the lowest setting as they seem to struggle with a big current. There is a ripple in the water when its switched on as i have the powerhead pointed towards the surface. I'll take another vid when i have finished changing the water. Make sure you come back and check it out :)

I did have a plant that looks like it was kinda dying. Going a bit brown. It wasn't raising the ammonia but if it was decaying a bit could it give off any harmful chemicals or anything?

aslong as there is a ripple on the suface, thats fine. Dying plants do let off ammonia, normally not in the amount that would kill fish or the filter can't take care of.
