Help Cycle Halted?

That's fun to hear Derby! It's the same story with me (BTT probably already heard this in some other thread) I'm a dad who kept tropicals in the 1960's and now I'm trying to re-learn the hobby to help my 11-year-old son set up the new tank (also from the recent holiday like you.)

Miss Wiggle, did you change to a real pic of you after someone said the kitten with green eyes scared them?

~~waterdrop~~

awww cute story freya's dad.... whats your real name?

you should monitor the pH daily, if it starts to drop again then do another water change

Real name Verl

The other thing i probably should introduce myself to clear something up

i'm freya's dad, (Freya the mermaid was her favourite book when younger)

Sorry, i've been calling you Freya. Oops!

UPDATE

hi

just to give you an update, ammonia going from 4 to zero in 24 hours

nitrite 0

nitrate 0

ph 7.2

Question does this mean cycle has finished, as nitrites have dropped and have been at zero for 3days,

but shouldnt nitrates be high or are they low as i did a massive waterchange 4 days ago?

FTM

the massive water change will have taken care of the nitrate.

sounds like you're good to go :good:
