Help my cichlids are what looks like breathing air from the water surface 2 are fine the other 3 are not whats going on

Most Aulonocara actually reach 7" and that tank isn't even big enough for 1 i'm afraid. I suspect the problem has only just arisen as the fish have grown to a size where the filter cannot cope with the waste being produced.

Adding another filter will not solve the problem but may help temporarily - the fish need returning/re-homing asap. You can then re-stock the tank with more suitable fish.

Those fish should be happier now.
