Hi I'm new to this site and I'm very grateful for whatever help you can give me.

I have a 29g tank, dimensions are 12Wx30Lx17h, with 1 angelfish, 1 platy, 1 rubberlip pleco, 2 dwarf gouramis, 2 cories (1 panda 1 juli), 2 blue longfin leopard danios, and a mystery snail. My ph is around 7.6-7.8(I know its a bit high, but the fish are mostly fine), but other than that the water is fine.

Two of my platies and one danio just recently died, but now im worried about one of my DG's. he's just staying near the bottom hiding in a cave and barely active or eating. What should i do?

Also if you have any ideas about another small fish I could get it would be great.( no more than 3 inches, please)

Welcome :)

May I recommend you up your number of Corys? They like to be in groups of about 6, and all of the same type is best, though 3 and 3 would be better than just one of each.
I also recommend you up your number of Danios. They like to be in schools of at least 5.

If you could give more detail as to how they died, were their fins eaten away, were they covered it little white spots or was their fungus on them? Your DG is displaying vague symptoms (lethargy) that could be a symptom of a number of illnesses.

I wouldn't recommend any small fish until you have this illness taken care of... Upping the number of danios and corys you have would be best. But Getting both to acceptable numbers would fill your tank and it wouldn't be good to add any other fish in my opinion.
You don't want your fish to be to small, like neon tetras, as your angelfish will snack on them when it gets bigger.

ok, thanks for the advice
As for how the other fish died, they were getting less and less active and staying close to or sometimes even laying on the bottom while also hiding in the shadows. They were also not eating very much.

How long ago did you put in the fish, your tank may not be done cycling (get a liquid test kit and measure ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate). Then if your ammonia or nitrite are above 0 or nitrate above 30 do a 50% water change. Also once your problem is solved corries and danios should be kept in schools of 6+

Also, are your gourami's both male because if they are you can expect some fighting. Make sure they are both female or if they are one each than you need another female. If you don't know how to sex them, post some pictures here and we could help you!

Welcome to the group!

We really need a lot more information about your tank and its inhabitants and stats before we can help. It sounds a lot like you have high ammonia. Did you cycle your filter before you added fish? How long has your tank been set up?
