Hi,
I have had my 26 gallon Bow front tank for around 3 years. I have been slowly learning about the hobby. I love my fish, Just the bubbling of the tank is peaceful in itself.
As for myself, 2 1/2 years ago I found out I had Myasthenia Gravis, its an auto immune disease, simular to MS yet not. See my voluntary muscles get weak. From my arms and legs all the way to my speech and swallowing.  I am on immune suppressant medications which makes me extra careful when I need and am able to clean my tank. I usually wear a mask and gloves. Lol.
Back to the fish, right now all I have is Neon Tetra's, and 2 guppies in it along with a cory catfish that I have had since opening my tank.
Well sorry to make this short but my fingers r weaking while typing. See its worse at night. The weakness I get.

So sorry to hear of your condition, but your tank sounds nice.

Cories are best in groups if you can boost their numbers, that would be great.

Same with neons... the more the merrier.

Sorry bout your disease, that doesn't sound like much fun.

Anywho, welcome to the community! Ditto on what eagles said.

Sorry to hear about your condition.

But welcome to the forum :)

Hi! and
welcomeani.gif

Sorry to hear about your illness, I have severe fibromyalgia, cronic fatigue and hypermobile joints - and other stuff aswell so you are not alone. I got fish because I get very down and suffer with panic attacks and I thought having a fish tank humming away might be helpful and it is! They are very theaputic.

I would also agree with what has been said about the fish. Cory cats are social little fish and they love nothing more than being in a large group. Always try to keep a minimum of 5 or 6 and try to keep them in their species groups aswell. If you looks at my sig you'll see I have lots of cories but I try to keep them in groups of species ... the only exception is my Melini's as I'm still searching for 3 more of those to bring their group up to 6.
Same with tetra's, they are a shoaling species and live in large groups in the wild. You will only see them at their full potential if you keep larger groups :)

Hi and welcome.

I usually wear a mask and gloves. Lol.
No need to do this, You are not well,  BUT,  this is not contagious. Trust me on this.

I found out I had Myasthenia Gravis,
My mother had Myasthenia Gravis, She was diagnosed at 45 she passed away peacefully at 67,  She had a Thymectomy and was on all sorts of medication Things like  Mestinone  Prednisone, Azathioprine, Cyclosporin,  I still remember the big open chest surgery she had many years ago and helping her out of bed to go to the bathroom after surgery.  , Luckily my mother went into remission for the most part, I know exactly what you are going thru, If you would like I can give you my email and we can stay in contact. Site PM me if you want.

Do not be afraid of this, I wont go into details here about everything my family went thru as it is an open form, Know this. Even thou I do not know you I am here for you If you want it, And will openly discuss my mothers life with you privately, NO STRINGS ATTACHED.

Yours
Nick.

Nick, you are so sweet and kind to offer that. The world needs more lovely people who offer help and support. Good on you :)

Awe, thank you all. Its different each day, I really think my biggest peev of having MG is the speech and swallowing thing. Yes, Nick. That would be wonderful. I have not had a thymectomy, but my neuro says it's my next option. I don't mind discussing some of my meds on here though, I am on Cyclosporine, Prednisone, I take Mestinon every 4 hours and have had Rituxan. I get IVIG's every so many months for a boost. You must know it's one difficult disease to manage. Each day is different.  Akasha72, I am truly sorry to hear of your conditions. Fibro is really hard alone to deal with. I have a friend that has that. Yes I think fish help us a lot. Though, lol. Not cleaning them. Yet watching them, each fish has there own personality. Right now in my tank I have 9 Neon Tetra's, 4 Guppies, well 1 is a baby more so. Today I bought an Angel Fish, know I can't fit a lot more in there now because Angel Fish get big. Lol. O yes, lol. and my Cory, I did have 2 of them, but during my MG Crisis a few years ago I lost a lot of fish. Was in the hospital for nearly a month. Parents don't know how to take care of fish. Lol.
Again I give thanks to you all for the welcoming.
