I am new to the forum.
I have set up a 23 litres (6 US gallons) bowfront fish tank for my male Betta. I have a problem with the filter. I have a small internal filter which is rated at 210 l/h. Will it be enough for my tank? I also have another bigger internal filter which is rated at 400 l/h but the reason that I did not put that filter, I think there will be too much water current for my Betta. Am I right?

Also the small filter does have a mechanical foam filter only. I have some active carbon and some bio wheels in seperate socks, shall I put them in my aquarium or not?

The 210lph will be fine. If theres space in the filter why wouldn't you add the bio balls?.
The active carbon isn't needed all of the time, just for removing odurs, removing tannin or after medicating
Bettas prefer a calmer water flow, so 210lph would be perfect. I had a 20 litre with a 200lph and that worked well

Your filter flow is plenty at about 8x the tank volume per hour. If you have any mature filter media, by all means add it. It will greatly speed up the new filter's cycle process. I often run tanks at far lower flows relative to their size, but your filter flow will be no real problem for a healthy betta. I keep my present betta in a 45 gallon tank and he swims right through the extreme flow that a canister filter for a 45 gallon produces. He was a bit hesitant to swim in the area the first few days but soon became comfortable with the higher flows. It just took him adjusting to actually swimming rather than drifting around the tank.
