Well, hi there, fish people. I've just joined and I'm new to the hobby but I'm absolutely fascinated by fish. I love them.

My one and only tank: 10 gallons
5 Platies (1 male and four females, one heavily pregnant :kana: and another working on it.)
1 male Guppy (who likes to flirt with the platy girls :hey: )
4 Otocinclus Catfish of undetermined genders :p

I just dropped in some lily bulbs I bought at walmart just two days ago and they're already throwing roots for me :yahoo:

Here's a picture: http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d151/Saracirce/HPIM0335.jpg It looks really dark because of the flash. I'll try to get a better one later.

Eventually once I feel I can manage this tank easily, I will be looking forward to getting a betta male and I'll be wanting to get bigger tanks for both saltwater and fish water.

Lol, I just did. Thanks for pointing me to it. Should be fun to see how many votes I get ^^

Hehe, I hope so

Just went upstairs to look and I found a baby fry in the pink plastic plant I had floating. I knew at least one of them was going to drop today. I'm boiling in an egg now and I'm going to cream the yolk into some water for the fry and any of it's siblings that survives. I'm super excited. How often should I feed the fry?

Welcome Saracirce.
You feed fry at least twice and better yet 4 times a day. Be very careful with the egg yolk. It is a good food for the fish but can make a real bad mess of the tank. For livebearer fry, I usually just crush some fish food between my finger tips instead. It makes a lot less mess and is fine for them to grow on. Watch closely how much you feed those fry. They have really tiny stomachs. That means lots of feedings, but very small ones. If you had 10 fry, you might crush up a single flake for all 10 for a feeding.
