Hi all

My partner and I are just starting out on our journey into tropical fish and are looking for all the help and advice we can find! 30 litre tank with 2 Mickey Mouse Platys (not sure whether male/female that's how novice we are even after looking at pics!) with more fish to follow (Tetras) on Saturday.

The male has what you call a gonopodium, a sort of elongated anal fin. The female has a 'fan-shaped' anal fin.

Hope this helps on sexing your fish!
