Hi Everyone, Well it has been a while since I have been on. I had to take down my 55g last year due to the fact that I going back to school and would have no time to take care of my slippery friends.....since then we have updated our furniture and can no longer house a 55g, but today I went out and purchased a 29g and ready for a nice little community tank. I just set the tank up and I am going to let it run for a day or so before I start my cycle.

Since I will have a bit to decide what fish I want for that size of tank, I also ask all of you your input of what fish I could get that would fill top, middle and bottom water space!!!

Thanks, Laura

I take it your after tropical freshwater
do you want colour, active fish, cichlid maybe or even catfish

let us know what kind of fish you like the look of :good:

Yes, tropical freshwater it is....I contemplated a marine tank, but I don't think that I am really at that level yet, or want to spend that kind of money. I have kept most freshwater fish, but usually a species only tank....I would like lots of colour, but I will add some coloured plants to aid in this!! Really, I would like an active tank, and I would like all levels occupied.

Welcome to our forum FlutterBye.
If you really want the best stocking for your new tank, why not take a walk through your local fish shop and write down the fish that appeal to you? We could then help you work out things like compatibility and similar issues. It would also help us help you if we knew what kind of tap water you will have to work with. Is it a high pH hard water like mine or the low pH soft water that many tetras would thrive in? That kind of information can be indispensable when picking out a fish stocking.
