Hi everyone.  I am a beginner fish keeper from NJ.  I have a 15 gallon tank with a dwarf gourami and 4 tiger barbs (I plan to add more I just recently got the tank and the petsmart person said too much fish can overload the ecosystem).

Thats a not bad sized tank to start with.

Can I ask if you already cycled the tank before adding your fish?

If not, then you'll need to do fish in cycle process am afraid. I do not have the link to help with fish in cycles.
Hopefully someone will give that link for you.

I can however help by advising you to read this, this will help you understand what cycling a tank is about if you do not already know this, if you do, then basically just ignore this!

And also, sorry but your tank is a bit too small for tiger barbs

Thanks everyone and the tiger barbs seem to love the tank.  Its normal for them to stay close together right?  They never seem to get an inch away from eachother and they always just swim around messing with eachother.  I really like them though and I think their very cute fish.

Barbs are schooling fish but usually only school tightly when they feel threatened or insecure.

As a side note, Barbs and Gouramis in same tanks can be hit or miss...

True that. I found out that tiger barbs in small schools become nippy with gouramis over time. Hopefully the same thing doesn't happen with yours
