Hi

My partner (Ryan) and i (Crystal) have been looking after and breeding tropicals with a combined experience of 9 years.

We introduce our fry to other fry at a young age so their more likely to get along in a community tank for example in our largest community tank we have:
5 Red tail sharks
2 Black knife ghost fish
2 6" Opealine gouramis
2 Angels
1 Kissing gourami
2 Tiger loaches
18 neons
8 Gold platys
4 Female bettas
1 Male betta
2 Plecs
2 Pearl gouramis
2 Gold dwarf gouramis
1 Blue dwarf gourami
2 Orange dwarf gouramis
2 Mollys

In our breeding tanks at the moment we have 30+ Betta fish
and around 60 opaline gouramis.

the tank looks great but may i just point out:
red tail black sharks are not ment to be kept with each other for agression reasons so having 5 in one tank is stupid.
also you should never keep male and female bettas in the same tank together.
other than them to reasons your tank looks nice, have you got a full tank shot?

No but we can get a full shot.

The sharks have never had any problems together at all they have all been together now for just over 11 months.
The male betta isnt actually in the community tank. because the gouramis kept nipping him.

Beautiful tank!

I don't think keeping five sharks together is stupid because as you stated they have been introduced to each other when they were young, they may get more aggressive when older but your tanks i easily big enough for them.

Hi look's good, congrats on the breeding of the opaline's :good:
Those redtail sharks are beautiful, but i will say that i have a full grown one,as they mature they get more aggressive and they do not care what they attack, my one will not worry about attacking the snakeheads or the silver sharks that are much much bigger then him, hehe he is an evil little blighter
I have kept redtails on and off for about 13yrs and you will notice once they hit about 4.5-5inches they may very well change there attitude over night..

Once they get larger they will be going into other tanks but we do intend on trying  to breed them seeing as we have to male-female pairs. i know this is unlikely and difficult but always worth a try :good:

mate stranger thing's have happened, lord i know, being the first to sucessfully breed channa ornatipinnis which i was not even trying, reading no one had ever managed so i just left them in a tank, boy did they suprise me

:good: :good: :good: :good: :good: mate that is impressive congrations !!! :good: :good: we were pretty surprised when we decided to start breeding our fish the gouramis and the fighters literally laid eggs the night we put them in together :)
