HEEEELLLLPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!

..They are a very nice well written article on how to kill fish in the beginner section.. Please go read that before you drop one down a shredder or flush it down the toilet... [/QUOTE]
I believe I wrote this in my first reply..About not flushing these poor fish

I do have a little question. A few minutes of agony is probably for sure. But how could the little fellas last for hours? is there sufficient oxygen in there to sustain them for that long? in most septic tanks, i believe there isnt enough oxygen.

If you will give me a few minutes I will find where I read that and give you a link to it.. I am going based on what I have read.. And believe me I have read enough about fish in the last year and a half to become a pro.. When it comes to fish.. aAnd besides I wouldnt put a poor fish threw the pain of the chemical burns to find out really for sure..

I have an idea. One of us tie a string to the tail of your fish, flush it and wait a few minutes before pulling it back to make sure it's alive or dead. If it's not dead, flush it again and wait a few minutes more and try it again. Record your finding and please post so the rest of us don't have to try.

(Just kidding)

Can you give a fish mouth to mouth?

And I really dont think a shredder is the humane way to put down a fish either..\
I didnt want my dad to put him in the shredder i was screaming while he did it.He told me it was a lower life form and that it didnt care.

lol...I only flush them cos I wouldn't be able to wrap up my beloved fishy in a bag and throw him away...I'm not sure why I feel that flushing him is much better. Only when I flush him I don't have to look at his mangled body for so long. Most of my fish die painfully. :-( Poor fish. My female molly gave birth then died. My other one got stressed, half eaten, diseased then died. I would have euthanised her but I didn't know how. I hadn't discovered this forum by then. My betta... I don't know why he died. My male molly got popeye I was treating him then he got white spot and died. Poor fishies, rip.

I am sorry but I just dont see the humor in that remark.. But I guess that is why people have a sense of humor. Please in the future try not to make remarks like that.. I am not for sure how long they live after they have been flushed. But I did read where they said they could live for hours I have looked for that link all day.. But before the day is out I will find it..

Someone should just go for the rope experiment thing. It would settle the debate once and for all.  What I find funny is I could just imagine somebody stupid enough to do it. Imagine the smell after you pull it back up...

Somebody please let me know if I'm wrong, but in a septic system there is very little water. It's almost all decaying matter and waste. If that's the case then when the fish lands in the septic it starts to suffocate while the chemicals from the decaying matter burns their skin. Am I right there? If there is water in there then it's gotta be extremely nasty and they should be unable to breath, everything the water touches (the whole fish) starts to burn. Am I right on that? I wonder what happens after that. What chemicals you think are in a septic system that are toxic? Probably a ton. I betcha there's so many chemicals in there that are so toxic that it kills them almost immediately. I betcha it was just considered inhumane because of how discusting it it. I wonder how long they really do live. If the fish is so sick that it's causing it to be too confused to know what the heck is going on then a trip to searing hot death shouldn't be too much worse when compaired to a death by oil or living like a vegetable, right? What's a few minutes of pain, right? They stop hurting I promise.

Jesus, decapitating it???!?!?!?! Why not take care of your tank, be responsible, and maybe they won't have to die these ways...

Here it is the end up the day and no update on how long fish live in a septic tank. They can't live for long. I think it's humane. Quite discusting though.

We can avoid those few minutes of agony if we just decapitate it!!! Why cant you understand that? Lets say a murderer wants to kil you, and he gives you a choice. Would you rather be tortured to death, or just be killed in an instant?
