Hi I wonder if anyone has bred acarichthys heckelii?

I don't think rearing would be a problem, they're hardy...But inducing them to breed.

I thought it would be nice if the extremely beatiful cichlids made more jewels like themselves :good:

Any input will be appreciated

I have been looking into these quite a lot still about 50/50 on one for my tank.

What I have read they breed in caves but quite deep ones almost like a tunnel system? Some people have used those large greek style vases that they bury and let the fish find them that way the ground wont collapse on them. Though as I say this is all I have read and as yet have no experience with them. Do you have any yet? Oh also I read if your keeping multiples its best to get 1 male and 2 females to spread out the males aggression also in the wild they can claim upto 3 meters of territory so I think a species tank only is needed.

Wills :)

I see. Thanks for the reply :)

So what you need is: A large tank, suitible heckeliis, a buried huge pot, and some patience?

WHen I get my tank, I'm really gonna try my hand at them.....THey're my favorite cichlid :hyper:
