Ok, so I moved Ghost out of the community tank into his own 1 gallon tank. He seems to like it ok but keeps swimming around like he is expecting more room and I can't keep the temps steady. Last night it was 75*, today it was 62* and now it is 68* . I'm thinking about putting him back in the main tank and waiting until I can either find a heater or another way to keep his small home warm. Any advice? I never had any problems when he was with the other fish, hes very docile and everyone else left him alone.

What other fish do you have in your community tank? One of my crowntails, Fiodore, was in my 25 gallon community tank for months and everything was fine. If you didn't have any problems before, it seems like it might be ok to move him back.

What other fish do you have in your community tank?

I have a 29 gallon tall with
6 cherry barbs
5 neons
3 guppies
2 platies
3 otto cats
and 1 weather loach

I know most people don't recommend guppies or neons but the guppies are just left over feeders that I don't want anyways( plus ghost doesn't bother them, they aren't fancy) and I've kept neons and bettas together with no nipping.

i'm talking from past experience as i had my late freddy in my community tank with a similiar setup but with rosy barbs and the barbs where just too quick and nippy for him so i would watch them :)

I moved him again, I really mis having him right by me when I'm on the computer. No body is bothering him but I still plan on moving him back to his own tank after I get the heat problem figured out. I have a 10 gallon I might put him in with a few snails.

Snails would be cool.... Malaysian Trumpet snails are great. They don't eat plants, and they have neat conical shells. I've got a few of them in my 25 gallon tank. In 2 of my 2 gallon betta tanks, I have some other kind of snails. I'm not really sure what they are, they're fairly small and they seem to have had a population explosion.
