Decades now, heaters have been a problem. Breaking glass, breakdown, stick and overheat. Mine so far is doing fair..Marineland 250 watt. Of course the water temperature never matches the dial, that's a dream. I adjust by my thermometer. It can say 77f,when the heaters guides says 84f. All that with a working normal heater. Normal for the hobby.
Anybody found a heater that REALLY is pro like? calibrations are true? Reliable? I might need that by winter time.

I use the Interpet 2-10 gallon heater. (The whole Interpet line is very good.)

I use this heater for my 29g tank, even though its only meant for a 10g tank. (Its also very large)

It has an ultimate 5 year warranty as well.

(In the past, I have used cheap tetras heaters. Surprisingly, the two I bought over 4 years ago still work to this day.)

The warranty would be void of you use it for a larger aquarium than its intended for ;)

I used Rena heaters at home and we sold Rena heaters in the shop for over 20 years and never had an issue with them. They never got returned, whereas most of the other cheaper brands did. As far as I'm concerned, they were the best aquarium heaters around. However, I haven't had any heaters for the last 10 years so not sure if they have kept their quality, but I assume they have because they cost a bit more than the average heater.

Here is a post i made a while ago. For the peace of mind its well worth the cost. I use this system in all 3 of my tanks and the 4th (arriving soon :) ) will get the same treatment.

Is that Inkbird ( never had heard of them) just a controller? What makes the heat?...Or is it you plug your present heater into the controller? Price is good. Just wondering if more equipment is needed for it?

Aqueon Pro is suppose to be good but I don’t have one myself.

I usually use Eheim heaters without too many issues.

I use eheim and have a stable result with them, just calibrating it is a hassle. With the summer heat starting, i had to unplug my heaters a few times now just to keep my tanks cooler

Interpet heaters are pretty cheap as well...

I use an aqueon(sp?) 100 watt heater. The first one I had started getting condensation inside of it. Replaced it , and this one works good. Haven’t had an issue with it yet. BUT water is at 80 f and the heater is set at 84f. Doesn’t match, but I’m not touching it since I want the temp at 80. Lol
