ive set up my juwel rekord 96 filter and everythings in there, the water, the plants and the the stuff, its been on for 10 hours now, and the water is still cold, i took out the heater and find the heater is cold aswell... why isnt the heater working?

I have an heater too and I have to stay I've never noticed it be incredibly hot or warm. It may well be working but it takes about 24 hours for the water to reach the temperature set on the heater thermostat.

Very silly question - you have got the heater set to the right temp? If it's at minimum, the water may well be warmer than that temp.

When you say the water is still cold, do you mean cool? or like freezing cold?

The water will never feel warm when at the correct temp as humans are warm blooded and our body temp is higher than the water temperature so it will always feel cool even when at 26 celicus.

Adding a thermometre would make solving this issue much easier, surely?

Yes, thermometre, amazing useful tool .. not something a heater has after all. WD

You can normally hear it click on and off aswell. I agree that you should get a thermometer but also try turning it up to max whilst it's in the water and listen carefully for it to click on as you do it. If you don't hear anything then do the exact opposite and turn it as low as it goes, hopefully you should hear it click off.

Also they tend to have a light when they're on and heating.

And it may seem silly but make sure the plug is switched on.

its currently at 81 farenheit... what should it be at?? if its too hot how do i adjust it?
